I made these vases from slabs of clay, pressing in stems, leaves and berries from my garden to make impressions, then rolling the slab into a tall vase, leaving the top edge a little uneven for an out-of-the-garden feel. The pot is high-fired stoneware. The inside is glazes to serve as a water tight vase.
I make my pots to be different from each other. Each one has its own personality. I like similar repetition, but not crazy about duplicates. Hopefully, you will never find two of my pots that are the same.

Variations: Rosemary: We have always had a good bit of rosemary in the garden; love the smell and it looks great in a flowerbed. Pressing rosemary branches into wet clay, making impressions, I left the white clay body bare with layered green glazing.
Blue Nandina: I made this vase from a large slab of white stoneware, pressing in Nandina branches from my garden to make impressions. I layered blue glaze to create a bit of contrast to the stems, while counting on the red berries to create a dramatic, dark contrast.
Nandina Fall : Using a slab of white stoneware, I pressed Nandina branches from my garden to make impressions. On this pot I wanted to play with lighter shades of background, trying to capture the dusty and diffuse autumn light.
