Hand-Built Crock

$80.00

I love the crock shape for its beautiful simplicity. A straight-walled, functional pot with deep history and Early American folkart roots.

These pots are my revisit of the traditional crock, recreating the crock’s sophisticated swagger with a contemporary swing.

These are hand-built, slab pots made of high-fired stoneware. Slab pots are pretty straight forward, you roll out a slab, shape it into a pot, add a bottom and a rim.

Most of the features are functional to the pot’s construction. The imprint on the seam is stitching, assuring a strong seal. Coils over the lip are used to re-enforce the coil joint.

I have included a variety of colors and some minor build variations. I have named the colors after places I have been and the inspiration I got from being there.
