My dog and I were hiking in the woods up on the northern Blue Ridge, coming across an open glade of deep yellow autumn grass. Moments like that stick in my mind and come to life when I’m making a new pot.
I love the way this bowl has its own organic roll and balance.
This is a hand-build bowl. I like the slower hand-built process versus wheel thrown. I end up with a pot that is a little more like nature, not quite perfect.
This bowl is made from high-fired, stoneware. The bowl is 13” diameter and 3 1/2” high. Typically, stoneware is food and oven safe, however, I don’t think I would put this piece in the oven, and would most likely wash it by hand.
