Tulipiere

$325.00

My tulipiere is made of high-fired, white stoneware, approximately 8" tall and 8" in diameter at the bowl, with a 4” diameter base. The bowl is hand-formed with a design made of added clay and layered glazing. The design is a mash-up of Pacific Rim tattoo and Matisse floral patterns. The colors are very summer driven with deep blue skies and ocean beach sunsets. I wanted a pot that would cradle the floral arrangement, lifting it up, off the table. This pot is made as a single piece construction.

Tulipieres and flower frogs go back the 1500’s Europe; people wanted to grow bulb flowers indoors. Typically, the top of the pot was removable in order to place the tulip bulb in the pot with water. When the bulb sprouted, the stem would find its way through the holes in the top of the pot and bloom.

I make my pots to be different from each other. Each one has its own personality. I like similar repetition, but not crazy about duplicates. Hopefully, you will never find two of my pots that are the same.

With that said, a few pictures do not do a good job of helping you see the pots. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly for additional views. I will be happy to send you additional shots to assist in your selection.

8” high x 8’ diameter at the bowl, and 4” diameter at the base.
